To ensure the safety of our clients and team members, ESNorCal-hosted events are postponed until further notice.

Family Engagement & Support Programs

Caring for an individual with special needs 24 hours a day can be challenging. The family engagement and support programs at Easterseals Northern California enable parents and families to partake in recreational, social or other important activities with their children, friends or partners. Respite care services give caregivers the opportunity to relax, recharge and reconnect, while Family Fun events bring the community together for socialization and skills-building in games and sports. The Safeway Foundation generously sponsors our Family Engagement and Support Programs.

Programs

Generously sponsored by the Safeway Foundation, our Parents Night Out and Family Fun events are postponed until further notice. Please follow us on social media and check here for updates on when they will return.

Parents Night Out

Parents Night Out provides quality respite care for our clients and their siblings. The evenings offer parents and guardians time to themselves while their children are safe and cared for by trained practitioners. Attendees enjoy 3 hours of fun-filled care, complete with physical and educational activities, arts and crafts, sensory-friendly toys, dinner, games and a special visit from the Peter Pan Foundation, a local non-profit theater group.

Family Fun Events

From adaptive ice skating to family bingo nights, our Family Fun events are a great way to make new friends and learn new skills. With non-competitive sporting events supported by KEEN San Francisco and family game nights hosted in our centers throughout Northern California, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy!

What is the Goal of the Family Engagement & Support Programs?

The goal of our Family Engagement & Support Programs is to provide clients and families time for relaxation and revitalization with opportunities for fun and inclusion. We use a client-centered and family-involved approach in our treatment and believe that each client, family member and caregiver should feel supported.
